Holiday in Cornwall – Tintagel –August 2010

Off to another 0f my favourite places (the ruins of) Tintagel Castle. We parked just outside the village and took a walk up to St. Materiana’s church which was built around 1080  AD.

From there we walked along the coast to Tintagel Castle.

It’s not advisable to visit the castle if you are nervous of heights as there are some very steep, narrow staircases to climb.

As is normal in Britain you need to be prepared for “changeable” weather – we had bright sunshine and heavy wind and rain all in the space of  a few hours.
