Lake District – Summer Holiday – August 2012

We had never been to the Lake District before so this year we spent a week there for our summer holiday.

We stayed in Chapel Stile, not far from Ambleside, in the Langdale Valley. We rented a house called Underfell from LakeLovers which was very comfortable and ideally situated – most of the walking we did was from our front door; no need to drive. Chapel Stile is a good place to be based with a good shop, cafe and pub all nearby.

Here’s a few views from the garden:

Another view looking back to Chapel Stile from the Wainwright’s Inn pub – Underfell is the higher of the two buildings almost in the centre of the picture and painted green (click on the picture for an enlarged view)
