Frimley Lodge Canal–2nd April 2011

I had just got a new lens for my D7000 – an F2.8 105mm Nikkor macro – and so we took a trip to the Frimley Lodge canal to try it out. Hun Yieng took my old camera and lens for a friendly “competition”.

Here’s some of her shots:

Guildford Cathedral–24th March 2011

With the boys at school and both of us with a day off we took a short trip to Guildford Cathedral. After a nice lunch in the refectory we took a stroll around and inside the cathedral; with hardly anyone else around it was very peaceful there.

Two views of the cathedral: the first is straight from the camera and the second is a combination of three shots at different exposures using a technique called HDR which allows the creation of images that have a wider range (from light to dark) than is normally possible due to the limitations of the camera’s sensor.
